Mark Schmull
Mark established Arrow Planning in June 2017 with a vision to support positive growth in his local community by bringing forward high-quality, sustainable development.
A Chartered Town Planner with more than 22 years’ experience, Mark has worked for a range of small and large planning consultancies, including Lichfields and Savills. During Arrow’s first year in business, the consultancy was named a finalist for New Business of the Year at the Buckinghamshire Business Awards.
Since then, Arrow Planning has grown into an award-winning planning consultancy with an enthusiastic team committed to creating a better future for the generations that follow. Most recently, the practice was named Mid-Size Planning Consultancy of the Year at the RTPI South East Awards for Planning Excellence 2026.
Mark's Role
Throughout his career, Mark has helped to deliver a number of major strategic planning projects. These include securing permission for two of the largest onshore wind turbines in England, working on a strategic urban extension of 2,500 homes in the Green Belt and securing the allocation of a 2.3 million sq ft business park expansion on the A1 corridor. Mark has considerable experience leading and working within multidisciplinary teams to secure planning permission for strategic urban extensions, with particular expertise across the Thames Valley and beyond. He is focused on building long-term relationships with clients and wider project teams. Mark is equally passionate about supporting the Arrow team and providing opportunities for people to develop. He believes this is key to building a thriving business that celebrates individuality, encourages fresh thinking and delivers the highest standards of planning advice.
Away from Arrow
Away from Arrow, you can often find Mark at the gym, where he may also be developing his next idea for the business or cycling through the Chiltern Hills. He also enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his two children and Diggle the pug.
